Aaran and I just went to see the Carl Bloch art exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art. Bloch is an artist who has painted many of the paintings we use in our gospel art kit. He was born around 1850 in Denmark. Anyway, he has such a beautiful and unique perspective to his art. One of the paintings that touched me so much was the raising of Jairus' daughter. All other artists depict this story showing Christ actually raising her from the dead. Bloch, however, depicts the moments just before the miracle. (LINK to better view of the art). The sorrow of the mother at the loss of her beautiful daughter, the grief of the father as he greets the Savior knowing He has come too late. The peace in Christ's face - knowing all is well. It really made me think that 'with God, nothing is impossible'. He even overcame death. What miracles and blessings are just around the corner??? We may not understand all His blessings, and wish for some that we think we aren't receiving. But, I'm certain, we receive all the miracles we need.
