Lehi was the first prophet mentioned in the Book of Mormon. He, along with many other prophets cried repentance to the people of Jerusalem after the Lord warned that the city would be destroyed if the people would not repent.He has a record, his visions and dreams, and prophesies to his children - Question - where is that record? We know that Nephi abridges it (1Ne 1:17) -
In the preface to the 1830 edition of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith wrote that the lost 116 pages included his translation of "the Book of Lehi, which was an account abridged from the plates of Lehi, by the hand of Mormon." However, in Doctrine and Covenants 10:44, the Lord told Joseph that the lost pages contained "an abridgment of the account of Nephi." (more on the plates of Lehi)
So - Nephi first abridges Lehi's record - which may have been the lost manuscript, and later Mormon abridges all of the records into what is now the Book of Mormon.

Faced ridicule for his beliefs but continued on (1Ne 1:19)

Has a vision, it to be God and another (Christ), twelve others - learns Jerusalem will be destroyed (1Ne 1:8-13)
