Our choice resides between these two alternatives:
Father's Will
Faith
Hope thru repentence
Truth & Light
Service & Joy
OR
Satan's Will
Fear
Doubt
Lies & Darkness
Selfishness & Misery
The 'trick' is to have our will be the same as our Father's will.
What choices SHOULD you make?
That which brings the spirit into your life (prayer, media control, covenants, Sabbath observance, temple attendance, service, etc)
Scripture study technique:
As you study Alma war chapters, take two pieces of paper and write Amalickiah on one, and Captain Moroni on the other. As you study record what you learn about these men, what they did, said, etc.
Question to take to General Conference: What area of my life do I most need to strengthen and fortify?
Good question to ask when considering marriage: What evidence do I have that this person loves the Lord more than they love me?
Keeping the law of chastity. Remember temple covenant. Anything that stirs passion is considered sexual relations. We have covenanted not to have those outside of marriage. Before marriage relations should not stir passions.
Keep a picture of Christ & the temple in your apartment at college

- we would be agents unto ourselves to choose
- we would become carnal, sensual, devilish
- we would work to change the natural man into a spiritual man
- we would be tempted and tried
- we would learn by experience
- we would experience consequences for our choices
